SESOBEL was honored to receive the Takreem Award for Philanthropy and Charitable Services for its work with children with physical or mental disability.
The award was granted by a special jury, which notably included Queen Noor El-Hussein of Jordan, Mohamed El Baradei, Nobel Prize for Peace in 2005, Lakhdar Brahimi, Algerian diplomat and politician who was also Joint Arab League-United Nations Secretary General, and Amin Maalouf, Franco-Lebanese writer, elected to join the French Academy in 2011.
The ceremony was held in Manama, Bahrain on November 30, 2012, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Ibn Issa Al Khalifa and head of the Supreme Council for Women in Bahrain.
The event aims to make the winning laureates an example in the Arab world and throughout the world, to incite today’s and tomorrow’s generations to contribute towards advancing society in all areas.
